Wasatch Back Ragnar Race

Last week me and Sam ran in the Ragnar Wasatch Back Relay Race. It goes from Logan to Park City, a total of 188 miles. It was a lot of fun and a lot of hard running! After being crazy enough to do the one in Vegas, my work got two teams together for the Wasatch Back race. Our team name was Striptease-yes it is medically related. We had fun, laughter, and no sleep in our van. Sam ran leg 9, one of the hardest legs and did so well! I was so proud of him! He ran 3.5 miles around Pineview, 9.5 miles at 3 am, and then 3.6 miles up the first half of a massive mountain called "The Ragnar". I ran while being 4 months pregnant. Yes we are expecting a boy in December, in case I haven't told ya yet! I ran leg 12 which was up Snow Basin road 3.1 miles, 6.5 miles through Oakley, and 5.1 miles to the finish line in Park City! My last leg was so awesome! It was sunset and I had the best scenery around me! I'm so glad I did it and am SOOO glad its over. My bladder can't take anymore running for a while! We thought we had lost our camera after the 1st leg, so I don't have too many pictures. Luckily we found it in the van after the race! Hopefully we can do this crazy relay race again next year!

Union Station Model

I wanted to take some 2 year old pictures of Sienna. It's so fun to see how they change from year to year. She was so good for the photographer! I can't believe the difference of how she knew what to do in front of the camera. 5 months ago, she wouldn't even smile or look at the camera. Now she acts like a little model! We were also able to get a in a few family and couple pics too! I liked the location of the Union Station in Ogden. There are a lot of good backgrounds and fun ideas with the trains. I think a lot of the pictures turned out great, so I have to share most of them with you all!

Winter Break?

So for our spring break last week we some how ended up in Bear Lake. Kindove a long story but the short of it is--- it did not feel like Spring Break!!! Usually every Spring Break my side of the family goes to St. George. I can remember doing this every year since I was 10. This year my mom decided to book the condo in Pagosa Springs Colorado instead this year. It's near Mesa Verde Park and the four corners area. Needless to say with the horrible winter storm it was freezing there. My mom called from Colorado and said its an 8 hour drive, but I could get you somewhere closer like Bear Lake or Wolf Creek. She stated she understood if we didn't want to drive 8 hours and be in snow. So we decided to drive 2 hours and still be in the snow at Bear Lake! We did a lot of swimming and inside quiet time even with a two year old. It was a nice break, a nice idea mom, but next year we are going to St. George no matter what!
At the Garden City park in 40 degree weather

The park had some interesting play equipment

CHEESE!!!

Sienna enjoying the blue sky at the North beach at Bear Lake-surprisingly we were the only ones there-go figure!!!

Enjoying our picnic on the beach

Going to the water-we asked Sienna if she wanted to go swimming and she said YES!!! If only we had our wet suits!

Gotta love Utah's spring weather and the beautiful water of Bear Lake

Happy Easter

We celebrated Easter on two Sundays this year. I had to work on Easter so we had Sienna find all her eggs with dad at home and then she got a basket from the bunny that night. The week before she had two egg hunts with her cousins from both sides. I think she got plenty of candy and plenty of cute clothes and toys from family also. Such a spoiled girl! Hope everyone had a good one!

Just love that she has a sucker in her mouth while she is smiling

2nd Birthday

Sienna had her 2nd birthday last Saturday. I know everyone says it goes by so fast, but it HAS gone by too fast! We decided to have her party at MY GYM in Layton. You can rent out the entire place for an hour and half and have up to 20 kids. We had 15 cousins and friends there with Sienna along with all the adult family. So much better than cramming everyone into our house! She loved it there but wasn't quite sure what to do with all the attention on her! The slides, zip line, trampoline, and dodge ball was fun for all! The only disappointing part was not being able to open presents there. The party got over at 8pm and I didn't realize I had to tell them we wanted to open presents there. Apparently it takes away from "playing" time from the kids. We were all so tired by the time we got home, she ended up opening the presents the next day. Luckily she didn't mind at all! I love you baby girl and hope you had a great birthday to remember!

Her favorite part of the gym was the trampoline.

I think she looks like a natural gymnast

Gotta have the funny face picture! Poor Kynli in the front got a bloody nose from another kid kicking her in the face. She was such a trooper. Did not cry once!

We decided on an animals theme. Sienna loves animals and can name everyone in every book.!Its amazing how much she remembers-I think she even remembers going to the zoo last month!

That was some goooooood cake!

All her loot! THANKS EVERYONE!!!

Sit and spin was her favorite

We got her a new swing set for her to play on! She will never want to be inside anymore!

In memory of BEA

My grandma Bea passed away yesterday. She was 86 years old. I'm going to miss her so much! She was always such a caring and happy lady. I have so many fond memories of playing at her house when I was young. She always had yummy goodies and Apple Jacks waiting for us. She was always so strong and determined to not let life slow her down. She had such a special bond with Sienna and I know she will not be forgotten. I'm so glad I got to spend extra time with her last summer helping to take care of her. The game show network, egg sandwiches, and bean with bacon soup will always remind me of her. I'm sure she is so happy to be reunited with my grandpa. I love you Grandma Bea and know I will see you again some day!

San Diego

We went to San Diego two weeks ago for our winter vacation! We stayed 6 days in the warm and wet weather. 60-70 degrees felt so good! We had so much fun including the 12 hour drive times two with a 23 month old! Sienna actually did pretty well in the car with the help of DVD player, books, and many many snacks. We decided to go see the ZOO and Sea World for our big things. We also were able to see my sister Steph and her family who live in Vista and my friend Sarah who lives in San Diego. Here are a few highlights...

Swimming at the condo in Oceanside. Sienna wanted to go swimming everyday! And we almost did although it was a little chilly at night.

Oceanside harbor-our first night we had to eat some seafood even if it was at Joe's Crab Shack

I think Sienna felt the energy from the sun as much as we did. She had so much fun playing outside at the playgrounds.

She loves to CHEESE!!!

At the zoo-the elephant odyssey exhibit was awesome. I think the San Diego Zoo is 10 times bigger than the Hogle zoo, especially when carrying around 20 pounds through most of it. Stinker did not want to stay in her stroller most the time.

Always love the head pictures

My friend Sarah and her two girls-notice how I am wearing a tank top and she is wearing a sweater. She made so much fun of me for dressing like its summer! Hey 65 degrees is warm to me!

We went to Sea Port Village which is close to down town-beautiful views of the ocean and Sienna loved chasing all the birds away

Beautiful flowers at Sea Port Village

Sea World with the penguins

Love this picture! She is sitting on her stomach totally amazed with this walrus! It was so fun to see her get all excited with every new animal we saw.

Shamu show-in which was NOT part of the show a pelican getting eaten by both whales! You would think birds would know not to land on Shamu's stage! It was a crowd pleaser, but shook up the trainers just a little bit!

Can't tell you how many looks we got for having this cute monkey leash on Sienna through out the parks! She fell in love with this monkey thank goodness! I think it's better than pushing around a screaming kid in the stroller or losing you kid! I was just waiting for someone to say something to me!

Enjoying the sprite and popcorn only Sea World has to offer

This was actually Sienna's favorite part of Sea World-They had a few cute rides and a huge playground for kids to play on. I need one of these in our backyard!

At Oceanside beach with my sister and her family. It was so windy and a little cold that day but she still wanted to dip her feet in the ocean
