Dirty Dirty Dash

On Saturday, we ran the 10K Dirty Dash in Soilder Hollow. Our team was called "The Jiggy Piggy's." Sam was the "Boss hog" because he was one out of two guys on our team vs. ten women. They all work with Sam so it was fun to see them try to dunk him in the muddy pits and throw mud at him. It was pretty much impossible to stay clean. Some of the obstacles were hard. They had bales of hay to climb, walls to climb over, pipes to climb in, a huge pond full of mud to trek in, and a big spider rope wall to climb. The best part was the HUGE slip and slide at the end. We raced each other to the bottom, and Sam won with a price. He went head first down the slide and has a very sore chest and arm from landing on the mound of mud at the bottom! This was the funnest race I have ever done and plan to do it again and again!

Team Jiggy Piggy's with our Zumba skirts-We sounded like Jingle Bells as we were running

Before the race-I thought I could protect my hair with the bandana and my legs with the long socks-BIG mistake! Nothing was protected from the mud! Nothing!

After the race-Wish we could have gotten pics during the race, but didn't want to chance ruining any cameras

On the drive home after we got sprayed off. We had the Jeep top off, so all of us girls hair was crazy and super stiff from the mud leftovers. Such a fun way to spend a Saturday!!!

4th of July...Star Valley

We went and celebrated the 4th of July in Star Valley Wyoming. My brother in law has a HUGE cabin that could fit my entire side of the family. It was nice to be able to have our own room and still be able to hang out with everyone. We saw a sweet parade (what's the 4th of July without a parade?) in the small town of Grover. We took the infamous hike up to The Geyser" with Cruz strapped to us. Sienna was a big girl and walked most of the way. It was way hot but we enjoyed the view once we got there. Unfortunatley there was still snow at the top so we couldn't get right up close to where the geyser comes out. I was also lucky enough to see my friend Jen Bott. They also have a cabin near Afton Wyoming. It was nice to see the Bott's HUGE cabin as well.

The Geyser

Ummm..we had a little paint fight

Just keep running...running...running

We ran the Wasatch Ragnar Relay again this year. It was a lot of hard running. Sam did leg 1 which consisted of 20 miles (6.9 miles, 8.3 miles, and 4.8 miles). I did leg 6 which equalled 18.1 miles (6.9 miles, 8.1 miles, and 3.1 miles). It was different being in van 1 and I think I liked it much better. We had a lot of fun and a little more sleep this time. Our awesome team 1 van had Todd, Lorey, Soyna, Sarah, Sam, and I. My work (SDCH) sponsored the race for us so we had a rental mini-van and got free shirts. Not sure if I will do the Wasatch Back race again because I didn't sign up for next year, but would love to try out the Ragnar races in other parts of the country. The Florida Keys would be my dream run! It does keep me running and its nice to have a goal in mind when training. We will see what next year brings...

Decorating the van the night before. Go Striptease Part 2!!

Co-workers on my team-Lisa, Bobbi, Lorey, Kacey, Justin, me

Gotta love Sam's outfits he comes up with. It was freezing when we started 7:00 am, otherwise he would have been the streaker he wanted to be!

Starting line at Utah State in Logan

Enjoying the beautiful scenery with my Lorey!

Gearing up for the night run

Getting ready for my second leg of 8.1 miles up to East Canyon! It was rough but I did it. Love running in the dark in the middle of no where-- uphill!

Sam handing off to Sonya! She was an awesome last minute fill in and a hoot to hang out with!

All nice and rested-- ready to do our last run! Ha!!!

Todd ready to give away that slap bracelet!

At the finish line in Park City with our medals and precious stickers!

First Dentist visit

Sienna had her first visit to the dentist. She was so calm and cooperative, I wondered if they sprayed something as you walk in the door to calm children down! I couldn't believe how well she did! She sat right in the chair and let them work on her teeth like she had done it a million times before. Unfortunately, she had two cavities that had to be filled. We scheduled the appointment a week later and she did just as well then. The laughing gas might have helped to but I was so proud of her for being such a big girl! Hope this is the case for all the visits in the future...

6 months old

I can't beileve its been 6 months since Cruz was born. Time has just flown by! He is getting so big and is getting quite the personality. Love his smile and those eyes just melt me! I just want to eat those chunker cheeks! He is sitting up well and loves to eat everything we have given him. Even the puree nasty veggies. So suprised how much he loves peas! Love you "Cruzee" (Sienna's name for him).

He loves to JUMP and JUMP and JUMP all day long! He loves this bouncy more than Sienna ever did. Its so funny to watch him just go for 30 minutes or more at times. He's our little "jumpin bean"

7th Anniversary---Lucky Vegas Style

We went to Las Vegas for our 7th wedding anniversary. It was a much needed vacation. We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel. It had an awesome swimming pool area and a yummy Mexican restaurant we ate at many times! It was just nice to relax for 3 days and catch up on some sleep!
The highlight of our trip was going to the Billboard Music Awards! It was by far the coolest show I have ever seen in Vegas. We bought tickets last minute and decided to dress up and be Rock Stars ourselves!!! It was at the MGM arena and we did see Neil Diamond and C-Lo Green up close but no autographs. It was like one huge concert for three hours. A few of my favorite performers were- Beyonce', Black Eyed Peas, Keith Urban, and One Republic. It was an anniversary to remember!

1st half marathon...

I ran my first half marathon yesterday! I can't believe I did it!!! I never thought in a million years, I would be able to run 13.1 miles at one time and still be walking! The Ogden half marathon was really awesome! I liked the course because it was slightly downhill most the way. It started in Eden, runs around Pineview Reservoir, down Ogden Canyon, and ends on 25th street. BEAUTIFUL! I actually think getting up at 4 am was the hardest part. I ran it in 2 hours and 24 minutes (average pace of 11 minutes/mile). Not my fastest run, but the fact that it's only been 5 months since having Cruz, not too shabby for my 1st half marathon. I hope I can get faster the more I do it! Here's a toast to my 1st half marathon! Ogden did me proud!!!
